A Northern Territory environmental intelligence platform built from 44 Bureau of Meteorology automatic weather stations. It retains observations beyond BOM’s public 72-hour window and turns them into Territory-wide insight through a shared-timeline map, north–south temperature analysis, a derived fire-weather watch, and coastal-versus-inland wind comparisons.

Vegetation-type rarity performed best, but only modestly: the work shows that open-data surrogates are useful first-pass screens, not substitutes for biodiversity-value mapping.

The reserve network over-represents rugged northern country and under-protects the arid interior — the Tanami, the NT's largest bioregion at ~538,000 km², is a statistically significant cold spot at just 0.6% coverage.

Every chart carries a plain-English reading so travellers, councils, and emergency services can all use it.
